This low-profile antenna has a universal mounting bracket that can be installed to a wall, roof, satellite dish or mast. It comes witha detachable cable for easy cable routing. For installations that require more than 30 of cable, you will need a TERK 50 extension kit (SIR-EXT50). Its compact, weather-proof design allows for years of SIRIUS Satellite Radio enjoyment.

This is a must if you are having reception problems with the indoor antenna. Antenna was mounted on the house facia. I now get a good signal 24/7.
Have used it for 2 1/2 years now in Maine. Did not take long to install. Much better than the little box antenna that comes with radio. Works wonderful. Always have a signal.
Signal strength meter is now maxed out most of the time and nary a dropout.In your planning keep in mind the SIR6 antenna includes a 30' run of cable. We mounted the SIR6 on the roof and ran the cable inside which on this particular ranch house was quite easy. Many installations will need a longer length so you may want to purchase the Terk SIREXT50 50' extension cable. I thought we could get by with the internal antenna which had a pretty good look at the western horizon through a bay window. Unfortunately all I got was 25% signal with too frequent dropouts.
The terk antenna mounted on the roof of my home, helps the sirius sportster work perfectly, as advertised.
and, Is the color important. It does pull in signals better than the original indoor/outdoor antenna, even when mounted under similar conditions. The cable is heavier duty and the connection is waterproofed.As to whether it works better than Directed Electronics 14240 I cannot say.Things to consider between the 2 outdoor antennas (besides the price): Is the greater extension of the Terk antenna important for your mounting consideration (for example to reach out from under eves).
